Retreating

Mercy Project Staff Retreat. Sure could never have guessed that would be in the works when I started over a year ago! What an amazing period of growth we've experienced over the past year, and what a great time to expand our numbers and reach. The 5 of us took off to Camp Allen for a weekend in January to get some time away with the intent of dreaming and planning for 2013 and the future. Great little getaway spot, if you're looking.

I suppose the highlights would include being out in the middle of nowhere for a few days, a morning trail run, tasty meals (aside from my attempt at calzones... note: frozen bread dough rises. A lot.), rocking chairs on the porch with a lakeside view, an intense game of Quelf, and lots of time to hang out and spend time together. Oh, and a necessary trial run on one of the chocolate fountains for our upcoming women's race.

We also spent time brainstorming new ideas and things that are coming up for Mercy Project and rocking the white board sessions. How amazing and humbling to look back and see how much has happened since September 2010; it's so incredibly exciting to think about what the future holds.

Retreating is always so healing for me. It often challenges me and requires me to dig deep, but it is always needed and good.

Coming soon...

Lucky for me (and not so lucky for those of you who happen to stop by), there's no penalty for not posting in a timely manner. In general, I can't seem to keep up with much in life right now without attempting to function on not-near-enough sleep, and frankly, recording a few words doesn't seem that important. Until I get behind. And then stress about it. And then realize how silly that is. And then stress about having crappy priorities. Whatever.

Coming up (maybe in this order and maybe not):

• MP Staff Retreat

• Current Events & News

• A Post on Lent

• Instagramming

• A Bold Prayer

Check back!
