Quenching the Drought

it rained last night and i thought perhaps the posting drought should be quenched for a while as well...

*currently doing some freelance work under the umbrella of the Creative Group. started yesterday at Ackerman McQueen, an ad agency in Irving. should be there about a week, helping them catch up on casino ads and concert posters. hopefully moving on elsewhere after that. there's no need to work in a building in which you have to take 3 separate elevators to get to work each morning. no need.

*Tandy and I have taken on the Fortress ministry here at Prestoncrest. basically, we coordinate a group of people from church to go to Kid's Jam to teach and play with the kids once a month. also seeking opportunities to do some additional ministry with the Fortress clan.

*family is doing good. Wyatt is still the cutest kid ever, despite any argument you may put up. :)

*I've decided to not obtain another book until i finish the ones that i currently have at home. this is a huge step for me, but one that must be taken. on the list to finish: MLK, Jr. Autobiography and Nickel & Dimed.

*it's been brought to my attention that i need a pet. i realize i live in a no-pet policy establishment, but there is need for some company. and so, i will rule out a dog or cat at this point and perhaps stick with a smaller species. ideas are being accepted.

*i miss my best buddies. a lot.

*our small group has begun, crowded into my 'spacious' living area. (it's really not that hard to find, contrary to popular belief. just look for the yellow jeep that's always parked outside on tuesday nights and walk due east of it.) a fun mix of people so far. we're trying to decide what our topic of discussion will be.

and that's about it from here.

You should only have to wait for things at Christmastime. Not any other time of the year. I am tired of waiting, and it's way past the perhaps-I'm-being-impatient stage. Way past....
