I suppose the highlights would include being out in the middle of nowhere for a few days, a morning trail run, tasty meals (aside from my attempt at calzones... note: frozen bread dough rises. A lot.), rocking chairs on the porch with a lakeside view, an intense game of Quelf, and lots of time to hang out and spend time together. Oh, and a necessary trial run on one of the chocolate fountains for our upcoming women's race.
We also spent time brainstorming new ideas and things that are coming up for Mercy Project and rocking the white board sessions. How amazing and humbling to look back and see how much has happened since September 2010; it's so incredibly exciting to think about what the future holds.
Retreating is always so healing for me. It often challenges me and requires me to dig deep, but it is always needed and good.
